Hmm, a bit like Pat Misti, another evangelist that was visiting prostitutes.

People who have homosexual attendances may not have been preached to that they need to surrender that part of their life to God and allow God to change it. People who have these ungodly desires, Biblical are not allowed to obtain a ministry. So often in churches people vote as to who goes overseas or a split occurs and a new pastor is needed. Instead of God being at the helm, the people make the choice. God may indeed be dealing with a homosexual tendency (why i do not know, that kinda stuff makes me squeamish) but the people have voted him or her i suppose to be the new pastor because everybody likes him or her, not because that through the laying on of hands, god elected him not her. Sometimes 'head office' send pastors to churches. A local church went through 3 pastors before the congregation said, "we will have this one". Tootsie not quite according to scripture.
There are a number of reasons why people fail. Another popular reason is they get out of their chosen ministry. Take jimmy swagger for example. His music is/was so very annotated and he was called to evangelize. Just to evangelize and sing, nothing else... then he gets into revelations and puts out a book and then he has healing going on and then he gets sermons and becomes a preacher outside of evangelism. Pride got to his head and we all know, proverbs says, pride comet before a fall. If jimmy had of stuck to just what he was supposed to do a different outcome would have happened because God would have been in the work and not jimmies flesh (no pun intended)
So you see there are many reasons why, but as i said the main reason is not being in the vine. Not submitting to the teachings of God not passing the tests and then being promoted by man before their time. Many great leaders, Joshua for example waited 80yrs before he led the people across Jordan into the promised land. Joseph of Egypt spent 2plus years in jail for a crime he didn't commit. Patience and contentment are valuable sidekicks.
Lets not forget money. 10,000 people at 1 dollar a piece is 40,000 a month a half million dollars a year. If this doesn't puff a person up then nothing will. Jesus only had 120 disciples at the finish of his 3.5 yr ministry. Size was not important and did not happen because jests taught a harsh word. He taught the truth and he mentioned sin and he spoke out against wrongness, reproved works of darkness, told people not to love the world.. these are not messages that are prevalent today. We think oh buddies is a pentecostal or a Anglican or a whatever but let us look into what they preach. What kind of word is it? Is it an ecumenical word, jewel steno kinda word or is it a word that convicts people of their sins? If its a watered down word of gods love and god wants to bless you and prosperity then this kind of word will not keep a person in the vine.
muff said but i could go on.Well, as far as sex scandals go, it probably wouldn't have been such a big deal if it had been a bevy of 21 yr old from the corner yuppie bar. You'd think they thought everyone would recognize them in a brothel. Probably would, come to mention it. They just assumed that the Law of God didn't apply to them. Boy, are they gonna be disappointed. Ha Yeah, sort of ironic that the Catholic Church's sale of indulgences is one of the main things that caused the split with Protestantism in the first place, and now fun die Protestants are actually MORE likely than Catholics to argue that you can be an absolute monster for your entire life, but will still go to Heaven if you repent on your deathbed and accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior. I think it creates an atmosphere that encourages these sorts of sex scandals, personally.Indulgences was a huge long time ago.. get some updated information and catholic is not christian, keep reading the forums you will see it mentioned somewhere.
Nowhere does the bible say you can be a monster so long as you repent its okay.. tats just a lie.
Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Romans 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
what happens is people who do not turn their lives over to God and allow him to change them turn out to be atheist sand then you went and judged me, without addressing my point.
If Christianity has any backbone, it should be able to stand up to scrutiny.
So point is, I think it's wrong how people in leadership positions in church tell others how to be moral, and then secretly have sex with prostitutes/have homosexual sex/abuse children, then repent each week ready to "praise and worship" God and pretend to be a shining example of a Christiana and know what.. this excellent post will just get forgotten about as quickly as it is read. The higher morality doesn't allow those who have it to acknowledge a good point or even to 1/2 agree that maybe their idea has been shot down. lo. They just skip over it and carry on as though it was never said and their ridiculous idea never had any holes in it.
This is living in truth that is higher than Gods morals.
shame really
